Sonia Delaunay (1885 – 1979, France) “CATHÉDRALE” (1971) is a limited-edition color lithograph on pale cream wove Arches paper with full margins. It is signed in graphite (LR) and inscribed EA (Artist’s proof aside from the edition of 75). The work of art was printed by Atelier Mourlot, Paris and exhibits the strong, brilliant fresh colors and geometric shapes of the Orphism movement that Delaunay co-founded. The image measures 23.75" x 17.375"; the sheet measures 29.375" x 21.875"; and the framed piece is 30.25" x 23.25". Provenance: The Estate of Gerard L. Cafesjian (acquired through Christie's, Paris, France, April 25, 2007, lot 43).
