Alexander Calder (1898-1976, USA) “Flight from Tyranny” (1975) Original limited edition (84/100) offset lithograph. It depicts two people on horseback fleeing from a whip-wielding tyrant. The image was created as Calder’s contribution to Artists for Amnesty, as one of a series of art posters created by famous artists to focus on Amnesty International’s Prisoners of Conscience Year. The project was exhibited February through March 1977 at the New York University's Grey Art Gallery. Hand and plate signed by Calder and printed on heavy wove paper measuring 30 x 23 inches.
