Fanch (Francois) Ledan (b. 1949, France) - "La Longeavue" (sp?) (or La Longue Vue – The Long View or the Telescope) (1998) is a Limited-Edition Serigraph, numbered (277/350) and Hand Signed by the artist in the lower right margin. This image measures 15.75 x 6.75 inches, and with matting and frame, the artwork measures 23 x 14 inches. Featured is a desk and window overlooking an evening sky, a body of water and colorful sailboats. This is an example of Fanch’s “interiorscapes” that have a romantic mood and invite the onlooker to enter the room. There is whimsy and technical detail in the scene. Although no one is seen in the composition, there is the sense of human presence by the inclusion of coffee cups on the desk along with an open book, a pen, a pair of eyeglasses left on the chair and a telescope positioned next to the window. The vase of flowers on the desk appears to be painted with images of Itzhak Tarkay’s beautiful, colorful seated women, paying homage to Fanch’s fellow artist. A Certificate of Authenticity from Park West Gallery is included.
