Lowell Blair Nesbitt (1933 -1993, American) “Community Holiday Festival” - Original Limited-Edition Serigraph created for the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in 1978. One of Nesbitt’s classic floral works of art, this white poinsettia on a red background was created for Lincoln Center’s 8th annual event. The image measures 31.5 x 31.5 inches and with the margins and thin metallic frame, the work of art is 36.5 x 36.5 inches. It has been pencil signed, dated, and numbered (AP 17/27) by the artist. There is an embossed dry Seal on the bottom right corner of the paper: CHARLES CARDINAL / Serigraph / Fine Creations Inc.
Lowell Nesbitt is best known for his vast array of botanical art works. He has created over 400 images based on the flower theme. To honor his unparalleled contributions to the art world, in 1980 the United States Postal Service issued four stamps based on his floral paintings.
