Joan Miro (1893 – 1983, Spain) “Portugal” (1974) From the Escultor Suite. Original color lithograph on Guarro paper in an edition of 1500 unnumbered prints. Signed in the stone by Miro, printed by Poligrafa in Barcelona, Spain. Image size is 20 x 40 cm (8 x 16 inches); and with elaborate custom frame and mat, it measures 17 x 25 inches and is ready to hang. The work of art features bold primary colors with black on white. It is one in a series of seven images by Miro representing countries that in 1974 underwent great political change and were in the process of being “sculpted” into something else.
