Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989, Spanish) “Portrait of David Ben-Gurion” (1968) from the Famous Men Suite. Rare, hand-signed, limited-edition dry point etching in sepia ink on Japon paper, signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin and Roman numeral numbered VI/XXV in the lower left margin. The image measures 6.75 x 5 inches and the work of art has been matted and placed under glass in a 17.75 x 14.75-inch frame. The piece has not been examined outside the frame and appears in good condition with some very minor discoloration.
Dali chose five men for the “Famous Men” suite: Moshe Dayan, Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, David Ben-Gurion and President John F. Kennedy.
