Pooch in Chair

René Gruau (1909-2004, New York, France, Italy) “Pooch in Chair” (Le Petit Chien Sur le Fauteuil) aka “Red Chair with Dog” (1990) Hand-signed, limited edition color lithograph with copyright stamp on the verso. The sheet size is 26.75 x 20.25 inches, and with mat and frame, the work of art measures 28.5 x 22.5 inches. Pencil signed by the artist in the lower right and numbered 300/300 in pencil in the lower left with blind stamps of publisher, Circle Fine Arts, on heavy Arches paper. Gruau’s artwork and fashion illustrations are classic and timeless with elegance, style, and vivid colors, particularly, blacks, reds, and yellows. The image features the back of a bright red/orange upholstered chair with a white dog (a Skye Terrier?) peeking back from the seat of the chair.
