The sheet is 38.5 x 28 inches; and the work of art has been mounted, matted, and framed under Plexiglas measuring 46.5 x 36 inches.
After surviving a Nazi concentration camp and escaping imprisonment as a soldier, Friedlaender resided in France after World War II where he became known as a painter, fine arts teacher, an important printmaker, and a pioneer of the aquatint etching process. He progressed from figurative monochromatic work to multicolor abstracts in the 1960’s. He often traveled to the United States and held exhibitions internationally.
